Common starting point
Pre-existing model → township inserted → deviation?

The township as a starting frame—not an object of comparison.
A coordinate system determines the reference frame from which relationships become visible and measurable.
See the propositionWe are asking what happens when it becomes the frame from which the model is built.
Pre-existing model → township inserted → deviation?
Township observation → variables, relationships and constraints → construct model → test against evidence
External models are not presumed invalid. The construction of the model—and the reference frame it begins from—is itself part of the research question.
They are environments in which housing, mobility, schooling, commerce, language, trust, infrastructure and technology have been adapted to actual conditions.
To work from the township outward is to observe those conditions, identify the variables and relationships that matter, and construct models that can be tested.
The aim is not only to describe township life. It is to make more of it computable.
Neither imported models nor locally derived ones are assumed to be correct. Both must make their assumptions explicit and answer to evidence.
A model can only express the dimensions it contains. If the state space omits relations that organise everyday life, even a technically correct computation can remain structurally incomplete.
Possible dimensionsNetworks, flows, constraints, informal institutions, household relations and local timing.
Is the state space incomplete?
The method is a loop. Each stage leaves something useful for the next.
Field observations, existing evidence, datasets, lived systems and measurable phenomena.
Research creates observations, models and outputs. Useful knowledge should survive the project that produced it.
Open K-Folds is an emerging computational institution built around long-horizon questions.

The institution should become better at thinking because it has thought before.
The register will open when work is ready for public inspection.
No public research outputs have been released yet.
The founding team grew up in Kayamandi and later moved through education, communication, computing, policy, research and design. Open K-Folds brings those paths back into one research system.
Proximity supplies questions, context and accountability. It does not exempt the work from evidence, critique or comparison.
